Elliatt dress (old) | Colette Necklace | ASOS navy heels (old)
If anyone has ever said that cream and neon should never be seen, I am here to prove them wrong. I have never been a big fan of neon... I take that back... I was a fan of neon when I was 13, but since then I haven't ever wanted to revisit it. This dress was my compromise with neon. There is only the cheekiest of little peeks of yellow from beneath the subdued overlay, something that made me feel a lot more comfortable about neon yellow. Since purchasing this dress, I have let down the barrier against neons ever so slightly, and allowed this little gem of a necklace to make itself at home in my wardrobe.
Speaking of my wardrobe, I am in the process of overhauling my wardrobe for the new year. We have a 2 day sale organised in Northbridge, and I am getting rid of tonnes of stuff. In 2013 I swore to myself that I am going to be more aware of what I purchase for my wardrobe, and that I would be more strategic in the buying process. I already have a working list of things to buy in 2013. It has now been a whole month since I set my first ever set of New Year's Resolutions and so far, so good. I have already tackled the following of my resolutions:
- be more strategic with my wardrobe
As I mentioned above, I am overhauling and culling at the moment. I have also made a purchase in accordance with my list - my first ever pair of black trousers. I hate them, but I need them I guess.
- be less nervous, scared and worried about attending events where I feel as though I don't know anybody
Last Thursday evening, I attended the opening of the Fringe Festival where I only knew two invited guests. I packed my courage and went anyway. I had a wonderful time and met some really great people.
- stick to an exercise regime and enjoy it
Yesterday I went and re-enrolled at dancing after 1.5 years off. It is the only exercise I enjoy as much as I do, so I will make it work!
- get my first tattoo
This one hasn't happened yet, but after tomorrow it will be a different story. Yes, I am scared.
- work gosh darn hard
The reasoning behind this broad NY resolution was that things don't happen unless you make them happen. There are so many things that I want to achieve and 2013 is the year to make a start on it all. In saying this, Joel and I have put our heads down, and thanks to it we have a business in the making. Yay!
- get my blog to where I want it to be
I don't think I will ever be 100% satisfied with my blog, which means their is always room for growth. This year I have already been contacted to do a fun interview, and I am hoping that as the year goes on I will have many more similar stories to report on.
